Garry Peterson is the Founder and President of Peterson Advisors Group, and has over 35 years of hands-on experience in leading companies, building teams and driving sustainable improvement in productivity, profitability and growth. His firm provides operations expertise and business consulting services, as well as CEO and Executive Team coaching to small and mid-size companies in a wide variety of industries. As one of Garry’s significant accomplishments, he saved a 60 year-old manufacturing company from bankruptcy, and results have been sustained via a testimonial from the President.
As an accomplished facilitator and strategic planning implementer, Garry has over 35 clients in six states and has given over 400 full day training sessions in operations, sales, finance, HR and IT, serving companies in both manufacturing and service, traditional and high tech, five to 250 employees and with sales ranging from $750K to $275M.
Prior to his last 12 years of consulting, Garry was the Chief Operating Officer of Panther Global Technology. He led the entire turnaround effort for Panther, including the construction of a “Greenfield” facility in Ningbo, China, and the eventual sale of the business to a third party equity firm. Garry is very familiar with obtaining grants, start-ups and sustaining finance sourcing, as well as venture capital and angel funding.
Before joining Panther, Garry created the Restructuring and Turnaround Practice for Plante Moran, PLLC, a large management consulting firm in Southfield, Michigan, focusing on productivity and profitability improvement. Garry has given many subject-matter presentations and strategic planning workshops in the Midwest and in Florida.
Garry has a wealth of experience in leadership development and building high-performance management teams. Prior to his consulting career, he held several key management and C-Level domestic and international positions with General Motors, Borg-Warner, Wynn’s International and M.A. Hanna Company.
Garry holds undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, and an MBA. He is a guest lecturer in Organizational Development at the Graduate School of his MBA alma mater. Garry has given several keynote speeches at technical conferences both here in the U.S. and abroad, and graduation commencement addresses as well. He is active in many professional organizations, including the former APICS, SAE, AME, ASQ, SME and several Chambers of Commerce, and enjoys water skiing, kayaking and Scuba diving. Garry also does public speaking, focusing on subject matter expertise, team building and motivational needs.

As a published author, Garry has written and released two books. His “Who Put Me in CHARGE?” business book, told in fable style, is the often referred to “how-to” reference guide for getting companies to the NEXT LEVEL.
His most recent publication is the science fiction thriller, “Shattered Truth,” about three generations of one family seeking answers to extraterrestrial life. It is book one in the five-book series, “StargateEarth,” with the second book, “Alien Disruption,” expected early in 2020. Late in 2020, book three, “Warriors of the Galaxy,” will be published. The final two books, “Battlestar Earth” and “Journeys to Salvation” will follow in 2021.
